After more than 50 years of comfortable sleep always waking up clear and fresh I all of a sudden found myself waking up most mornings congested, wheezing, coughing and more times than not with watery eyes. On a regular checkup to my doctor I was diagnosed with an allergy to dust mites.Speaking with a long time friend I discovered that he too had developed the same condition.After doing some research we learnt that with proper bedding much of our discomfort could be alleviated without medication.
Having a combination of 50 plus years in the textile industry we committed ourselves to developing chemical free, natural bedding products that would allow us the peace of mind to know that we are being protected from what lives in our bedding while at the same time giving us the comfort we needed to enjoy our sleep again.
With these objectives as our center of attention we set out on our quest. Now after 4 years of rigorous product development, focus group trials and extensive laboratory testing we are proud to announce that Smartsilk is the first all natural bedding to have received the coveted asthma & allergy friendly™ certification from Allergy Standards Ltd. This certification is the recognized standards of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AFFA) and the Asthma Society of Canada (ASC).
